Linkcount matching a certain Xpath?

Hi,

Is there anyway to use linkcount function with a certain Xpath to get link count from certain nodes of a page?

For example, I wish to count link used within the text on a certain area of the page (only first paragraph or the last before the footer). If I use Xpath with the countA function, it even counts blankcells as 1.

Any other workaround would be highly appreciated.
